Study In Portugal

Documents required for all visa applicants must be in Portuguese or English.

1. Application National Visa Form:

   • Fully completed in Portuguese or English, signed and dated by the applicant.
   • For minors, both parents must sign the application form and visit the application center for submission.

2. Two Recent Passport Size Photographs:

   • Not older than 6 months, in color with a white background (3.5 by 4.5 cm).

3. Passport/Travel Document:

   • Valid for at least 3 months after the intended stay.
   • Issued within the previous 10 years with 2 blank pages.
   • Recommended to attach previous passports if applicable.

4. For Non-Iranian Nationals Residing in Iran:

   • Proof of legal residence in Iran (such as a long-stay visa or residence/work permit) valid for at least 3 months after the expiry of the requested visa.

5. Flight Reservation of Air Ticket.

6. Proof of Accommodation:

   • Hotel reservation or alternative proof of accommodation.

7. Travel Medical Insurance:

   • Cover expenses related to repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention, emergency hospital treatment, or death during the stay. A certificate policy is mandatory.

8. Proof of Financial Means of Subsistence:

   • Supported by documents showing income-generating assets or other means of subsistence.
   • Note: If supported by grants or scholarships, proof of means of subsistence may not be necessary.

9. Bank Account Statement for the Last 3 Months:

   • Showing movements in the last three months, duly signed and stamped by the bank.

10. Criminal Record Certificate:

    • From the country of origin or the country where the applicant has resided for over a year.
    • Note: Children under the age of 16 are exempt.

11. Request for Criminal Record Enquiry by Immigration and Border Services (SEF):

    • Form: “Autorização consulta do registo criminal.”

12. Research Purposes:

    • Work contract or agreement with a research center or university, letter of acceptance, scholarship, or research stipend.
    • Researchers admitted to recognized centers are exempt from health insurance, travel insurance, and proof of means of subsistence.

13. Higher Education Purposes (Licenciatura, Mestrado, PhD):

    • Proof of admission to a recognized university.
    • Exemption from providing proof of means of subsistence if a scholarship is awarded.

14. Secondary Education Purposes:

    • Proof of acceptance in high school (age limit: 14-21 years).
    • In case of student exchange, proof of means of subsistence can be made through a statement of responsibility issued by the organization in charge.

15. Internship Purposes:

    • Proof of internship acceptance, including training program details, duration, schedule, and living costs responsibility by the host institution.

16. Volunteer Work Purposes:

    • Contract with the host institution, including program details, living costs, and civil liability insurance.

17. Minors:

    • Minor’s birth certificate.
    • Travel authorization by parents or legal guardians, with copies of parents’ passports and court orders, if applicable.

Important Notes:

• Documents must be officially translated into Portuguese or English and attested by both the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• The embassy reserves the right to request further documentation, conduct interviews, and is not responsible for financial losses due to visa refusals.
